Santa Rosa (Calif.) Orthopaedics recently integrated the RIO Robotic Arm Interaction Orthopedic System, part of Stryker’s Mako system.
Here are four highlights:
1. The RIO Robotic Arm Interaction Orthopedic System aids surgeons performing minimally invasive techniques on patients undergoing total joint replacement procedures.
2. Michael McDermott, MD, and Nathan Ehmer, MD, are among the practice’s physicians trained to use the new robotic system.
3. Santa Rosa Orthopaedics also utilizes Stryker’s Mako surgical system. The robotic arm gives physicians the ability to plan procedures and provides precise placement of implants.
4. Dr. McDermott notes patients who undergo surgeries using the Mako system have noticed quicker recovery time and improved performance after healing.
