Swiss spinal implant developer Icotec ag has received approval for its Kong-TL and Kong-C vertebral body replacements in the U.S. and Europe.
Four things to know:
1. The devices are designed with BlackArmor, a PEEK material with an osseoconductive titanium coating.
2. The titanium coating promotes the engrafment of bone onto the implant.
3. BlackArmor allows for artefact-free imaging and aims to improve planning, application and follow-up care of radiotherapy for patients with tumors.
4. Since 2005, Icotec ag has developed more than 40,000 implants with BlackArmor.
