Smith+Nephew launched Aria, a platform for remote physical therapy.
Aria uses telehealth and digital avatar-based guidance so patients can have a customized experience at any time at home, according to a May 5 news release. Motion tracking technology guides patients through their physical therapy regimens and provides data for clinicians.
A randomized control trial showed Aria Home physical therapy decreased readmissions, outpatient visits, home health visits and emergency visits. The trial also found Aria saved patients an average of $2,745.
