Conformis has entered into a settlement with Stryker to resolve a patent dispute against Wright Medical, which Stryker acquired for $4 billion in November.
In the lawsuit, filed April 24, 2020, Conformis alleged that several of Wright Medical's patient-specific shoulder instruments — and the implant components used in conjunction with them — infringed upon its patents.
Under the settlement, Stryker will make a one-time payment to Conformis and receive a non-exclusive license related to certain Conformis patents.
"We are pleased to have resolved all of the ongoing patent litigation related to the Wright Medical dispute," Mark Augusti, Conformis President and CEO said in a July 7 news release. "The settlement once again highlights the strength and value of our intellectual property, as well as our steadfast commitment to protecting and enforcing it."
