Star Medical Center in Plano, Texas, has named Amy Blinkley, BSN, as chief nursing officer. Here are four things to know about Ms. Binkley and Star Medical Center:
1. Ms. Binkley recently served as the hospital's acute care director responsible for the inpatient unit and ER, as well as employee health and education.
2. As she currently pursues her master's degree, Ms. Binkley is excited about the role and sees Star Medical Center becoming one of the top surgical facilities in the area.
3. Ms. Binkley said her goal is for their patient care model "to become the expectation of all surgical patients."
4. As chief nursing officer, Ms. Binkley's responsibilities will include recruitment, retention and recognition of the nursing staff.
