A judge ruled in favor of Montgomery, Ala.-based Southern Orthopaedic Surgeons' plans for an ASC, Yellowhammer News reported Nov. 15.
The practice previously applied for the ASC's certificate of need, according to an Aug. 3 Facebook post. Now plans for the ASC will go to the State Health Planning and Development Agency for review.
The ASC would have six operating rooms and two procedure rooms. It will also be equipped with a surgical robot for joint replacements.
If approved, the ASC is expected to open within the next two years.
