Idaho medical center adds Dr. Nicholas Levine to launch neurosurgery practice

Practice Management

Moscow, Idaho-based Gritman Medical Center has added neurosurgeon Nicholas Levine, MD, to launch its new Gritman neurosurgery practice, which will focus on spine and brain surgery, according to a Jan. 2 report from the Daily Fly.

Dr. Levine has decades of experience in spinal neurosurgery and cranial surgery. He specializes in treating spinal conditions including degenerative cervical, thoracic and lumbar disorders; spine fractures and spinal cord injuries; cervical and lumbar artificial disc replacement; spine tumors; and surgical pain management.

Gritman is investing in state-of-the-art spine technology for the new practice, including the Zeiss Kinevo 900 neurological microscope and Medtronic O-arm multidimensional surgical imaging system with Medtronic's StealthStation navigation, which allow for real-time 3D images during spine and neurological procedures.

Gritman first added orthopedic services to its medical center less than two years ago. It also recently added interventional pain management services, continuing the growth of its musculoskeletal service line.
