Gastonia, N.C.-based Carolina Sports Medicine Center, in partnership with Carolina NeuroSurgery & Spine Associates, has broken ground on a 71,000-square-foot sports medicine facility in Charlotte, N.C., according to an Oct. 30 report from the Charlotte Business Journal.
The center will be available to athletes of all levels, according to the report. It will provide diagnostics, advanced medical care, rehabilitation and performance training, and is expected to cost $45 million to build.
The property was acquired by local healthcare real estate developer Taylor Capital for $9 million.
Carolina NeuroSurgery & Spine will anchor the project, leasing 27,500 square feet. Architect Sports will also lease space, offering physical therapy and rehabilitation services.
The sports medicine facility is expected to open in January 2026, with a 21,000-square-foot medical office building following by the end of 2026.
