Charlottesville, Va.-based UVA Health has opened a sports medicine practice in Centreville, Va., at its existing outpatient imaging center, according to an Oct. 30 report from the Washington Business Journal.
The new facility will meet the demand UVA Health providers have been seeing for both primary and sports medicine care.
The 6,600-square-foot building also continues to offer imaging, including MRI, CT scan, X-ray and ultrasound.
The new Centreville clinic is similar to another sports medicine site UVA Health operates in Bristow, Va., which sees 7,500 patient visits every year. The new Centreville space is expected to meet similar volumes.
Christopher Frymoyer, MD, a family and sports medicine provider who’s been at the Bristow location since 2020, will provide care at the new location. The system has also brought on an additional specialist, Aqeel Jafri, MD, to join Dr. Frymoyer in December.
