Daphne, Ala.-based Baldwin Bone & Joint recently opened its Osteo Health Clinic at its main office to help patients develop and maintain optimal bone health.
Led by clinical coordinator Holly Scott, CRNP, the center specializes in the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis and other bone conditions.
Osteoporosis is a big issue for patients over the age of 50, particularly women who are post-menopausal, according to Ms. Scott.
"Nearly half of all women in those groups are likely to have a broken bone or other bone issues due to osteoporosis and 25 percent of men over 50 will likely have the same problems," she said in an Oct. 13 news release.
The Osteo Health Clinic aims to reduce this patient population's risks for bone loss and fractures, among other issues.
