Assure Holdings has acquired Sentry Neuromonitoring, a large intraoperative intraoperative neurophysiologic monitoring practice in Houston.
Five notes:
1. In April, the company also acquired Elevation, an intraoperative neurophysiologic monitoring services company in the Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas, area.
2. As a result of the Sentry transaction, Assure raised its guidance for full-year 2021 procedures from 14,000 to 17,000.
2. The new guidance represents a 70 percent increase over 2020 procedures and a 165 percent increase compared to 2019.
3. In 2020, Sentry performed more than 5,500 intraoperative neurophysiologic monitoring procedures, about 50 percent of which were with commercial payers.
4. Sentry has 33 staff members, including 21 technologists who support more than 50 surgeons at about 50 facilities, according to a May 3 news release.
5. The transaction is expected to "unlock additional business opportunities in Texas, Missouri and Kansas," Assure CEO John Farlinger said.
