Russell C. Linton, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon practicing with Columbus (Miss.) Orthopaedic Clinic & Outpatient Center. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Orthopaedic Society of Sports Medicine and American Medical Association.
Specializing in sports medicine, Dr. Linton has attended the NFL Scouting Combine for the last 24 years. He has assisted the Miami Dolphins, Pittsburgh Steelers and Chicago Bears with orthopedic physicals at the combine. He has also assisted the team physician for the Florida Gators and Miami Dolphins while completing his fellowship. He is currently the team orthopedic surgeon for Mississippi State (Miss.) University and sports medicine director for all local high schools.
Dr. Linton University earned his medical degree at University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Campbell Clinic in Memphis, Tenn. He completed a sports medicine fellowship at Gainesville-based University of Florida.
