Stephen Murphy, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at Boston-based New England Baptist Hospital.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Murphy is a professor at Boston-based Tufts University School of Medicine. He is a pioneer in computer-assisted orthopedic surgery and is the developer of the capsulotomy minimally invasive method for total hip arthroplasty.
Dr. Murphy is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons and International Society for Computer Assisted Orthopedic Surgery. He has authored 50-plus reports and publications.
After earning his medical degree from Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City, Dr. Murphy completed his residency at Harvard Medical School in Boston. Dr. Murphy is also fellowship trained from Brigham and Women's Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital, both in Boston.
