New York City-based NewYork-Presbyterian Queens' surgeons have been performing robotic arthroplasty surgery since August.
Here are four things to know:
1. Since August, the hospital's orthopedic team has performed 11 robotic-assisted procedures for hip and knee procedures.
2. Tony Quach, MD, NewYork-Presbyterian Queens' associate director of sports medicine, completed a partial knee replacement with the technology.
3. Robert Li, MD, performed NewYork-Presbyterian Queens' first total knee replacement through robotic-assisted surgery Oct. 27.
4. Alongside Dr. Quach, Aditya Derasari, MD, the hospital's director of arthroplasty service, conducted a total hip replacement in August.
