April Armstrong, MD, was named vice president for orthopedics at Hershey, Pa.-based Penn State Health Medical Group.
Dr. Armstrong will partner with Safa Farzin, MD, senior vice president and physician leader for Penn State Health Medical Group, to oversee orthopedic workforce planning, according to a Jan. 19 news release. She is also tasked with overssing orthopedic services at the medical group, driving patient care strategies and coordinating collaboration with regional physicians.
"Dr. Armstrong is an accomplished clinician, researcher, educator and administrator with a history of focusing on the best outcomes and experience for patients," Peter Dillon, MD, executive vice president and chief clinical officer of Penn State Health said in the release. "Her collaborative, patient-focused approach will guide Penn State Health's efforts to extend the highest level of care and support to orthopedic patients across our continuum of care."
Dr. Armstrong is a C. McCollister Evarts Professor and specializes in shoulder and elbow surgery.
