Johnson & Johnson posted increases in total revenue and orthopedic sales during the second quarter of 2023, according to a July 20 news release from the company.
Five notes:
1. Johnson & Johnson reported $25.5 billion in second-quarter sales, a 6.3 percent increase year over year.
2. Orthopedic sales of $2.3 billion in the second quarter saw a 5 percent increase compared to the same time in 2022.
3. Hip sales were $397 million, up slightly from $388 million in the second quarter of 2022. Knee sales grew 3.9 percent year over year at $363 million. Trauma sales rose 6.1 percent year over year with $739 million in sales.
4. The spine and sports medicine segment rose 5.8 percent year over year at $766 million.
5. For the first half of 2023, orthopedic sales grew 3.8 percent year over year with $4.5 billion in revenue.
