Glen Crawford, MD, an orthopedic surgeon and trauma and fracture care specialist at Atlantic Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine in Portsmouth, N.H., has retired, according to a Jan. 17 report from Seacoast Online.
Dr. Crawford joined the Atlantic team in 2011 and earned several awards and accolades during his time with the practice.
In 2015, he was awarded the Hospital Corporation of America's Frist Award in the physician category, which honors HCA's physicians, employees and volunteers at the local, divisional and national levels.
He was also named a top orthopedic surgeon by New Hampshire Magazine in 2022. He volunteered treating musculoskeletal patients in Haiti, Vietnam, South Africa, Bhutan and Tanzania.
He also provided instruction and new technology to a medical center in Tanzania, which he visited almost yearly, according to the report.
"While this decision comes with a heavy heart, it also brings an opportunity for you to continue receiving excellent care. Though I will miss seeing you at the clinic, I leave knowing that you are in good hands. Thank you for the privilege of being your doctor. I wish you continued health and happiness," Dr. Crawford wrote in a letter to his patients.
