Orthopedic

The Kansas City Chiefs, the San Francisco 49ers and their physician teams — led by internal medicine specialist Michael Monaco, MD, and orthopedic surgeon Timothy McAdams, MD — came to Las Vegas for the 2024 Super Bowl on Feb. 11.

During the course of the game, two notable orthopedic injuries occurred:

Dre Greenlaw, linebacker for the 49ers, tore his Achilles tendon in the second quarter of Sunday's game and was unable to return to the game.

Deebo Samuel, a wide receiver for the 49ers, suffered a hamstring injury in the third quarter of the game as well, but he was able to return for the fourth quarter.
