Chicago-based Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush has promoted five physicians to new leadership roles effective immediately.
Brian Cole, MD, managing partner at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush, has been promoted to acting chair of the department of orthopedic surgery. He will replace Joshua Jacobs, MD, who, after serving in the role for 16 years, will transition to become the director of the Rush Arthritis and Orthopaedics Institute, according to an April 30 press release.
Dr. Cole, a professor and sports medicine surgeon, has been a member of MOR, a 50-physician independent academic private practice at RUSH, since 1997. He has held leadership roles at MOR for many years and was named managing partner in 2017. He has also been the head team physician for the Chicago Bulls for 19 years and associate team physician for the Chicago White Sox for 20 years.
Dr. Jacobs is a successful hip and knee replacement surgeon who has been with Rush since 1988. He served as the chair of the Rush department of orthopedic surgery for 16 years.
Adam Yanke, MD, PhD, has been appointed as the vice chair of research in the department of orthopedic surgery at Rush. He is an associate professor and sports medicine surgeon who joined Rush in 2014. He is also an associate team physician for the Chicago Bulls and Chicago White Sox.
Kern Singh, MD, will transition to the vice chair of clinical affairs and the director of the division of spine surgery in the department of orthopedic surgery at Rush. He is a long-standing professor and minimally invasive and endoscopic spine surgeon and has been a leading member of MOR since 2005.
Monica Kogan, MD, has been named vice chair of faculty affairs in the department of orthopedic surgery at Rush. She is an associate professor and pediatric orthopedic surgeon who joined the system in 2006 and leads the group's pediatric orthopedic specialty.
