New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery has received a $7.5 million donation to support the construction of a new orthopedic surgical center in Naples, Fla., according to a Jan. 30 report from South Florida Hospital News.
The new surgical center is part of a partnership between HSS and Naples Comprehensive Health.
The money was gifted by the Kapnick Foundation, which is dedicated to supporting HSS' vision for musculoskeletal care. Previously, the foundation supported the expansion of facilities on the HSS main campus in New York City.
NCH broke ground on the Patty & Jay Baker Pavilion, a 100,000-square-foot facility supporting orthopedic care, in 2023.
The Baker Pavilion will offer comprehensive outpatient and inpatient musculoskeletal services, including imaging and rehabilitation. It will also house the Kapnick Foundation Ambulatory Surgical Center.
The new facility is expected to open in March.
