Orthopedic surgeon to know: Dr. Rachel Rohde of Michigan Orthopaedic Surgeons

Rachel Rohde, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at Michigan Orthopaedic Surgeons in Southfield.

Dr. Rohde is also affiliated with Southfield-based Michigan Orthopedic Institute and Beaumont Hospital Royal Oak (Mich.).

With expertise in hand and upper extremity surgery, Dr. Rohde serves as an associate orthopedics professor at Auburn Hills, Mich.-based Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine.

In 2011, Dr. Rohde initiated the first Midwest-based Perry Outreach Program, which aims to inspire young women in high school, college and medical school to become leaders in orthopedic surgery and engineering.

Dr. Rohde received a Senior Achievement Award from the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons in 2018.

She is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Orthopaedic Association, American Association for Hand Surgery, American Society for Surgery of the Hand and Ruth Jackson Orthopaedic Society.

After earning her medical degree from Boston-based Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Dr. Rohde completed her residency at UPMC and a hand and microvascular surgery fellowship at Hospital for Special Surgery-Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City.
