New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery will award the former chief of its foot and ankle department, Jonathan Deland, MD, its lifetime achievement award.
What you should know:
1. Dr. Deland is a foot and ankle surgeon at HSS, as well as the Susan W. Rose and Jonathan T. Deland Chair for Research in Foot and Ankle Surgery.
2. He is the director of quality and innovation, and a past foot and ankle department chief.
3. Dr. Deland is an accomplished researcher and has published more than 100 journal articles and 12 book chapters throughout his career.
4. He notably established the Rose Registry, one of the largest foot and ankle registries for clinical research in the U.S.
