Lisa Warren, CEO of Birmingham, Ala.-based Andrews Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center, was selected as an honoree of the 2019 CEO Awards by Birmingham Business Journal.

1. Mrs. Warren believes the role of hospitals will change in 2020 as procedures migrate to lower-cost outpatient settings. She also predicts technology will evolve to suit the new care delivery models.
2. Mrs. Warren credits "amazing mentors" and dedicated peers and staff for her success. She said her mentors taught her practical skills and exemplified important leadership traits.
3. Mrs. Warren began pursuing the business of healthcare after a physician told her "a female would never get a residency" in orthopedic surgery or cardiology.
4. She's proud of her ability to help physicians and staff focus on treating patients and providing high-quality care.
5. Mrs. Warren's biggest pet peeve is people who complain about a problem without offering a solution.
