Orthopedic Care Partners, backed by private equity firm Varsity Healthcare Partners, affiliated with OrthoAspen (Colo.) on Sept. 10.
OrthoAspen is the employed orthopedic practice of Aspen Valley Hospital, which has formalized a partnership that will integrate it into Vail, Colo.-based The Steadman Clinic.
OrthoAspen represents the seventh affiliation that Orthopedic Care Partners has secured in the past 18 months. The management group has also partnered with The Steadman Clinic and The Orthopaedic Institute in Gainesville, Fla.
The Steadman Clinic has been eyeing expansion into Aspen for a number of years.
Additionally, Orthopedic Care Partners, The Steadman Clinic, Aspen Valley Hospital and Vail Health will partner to develop an orthopedic ASC.
The deal was made possible by the "operational and financial support" provided by Orthopedic Care Partners, which it affiliated with in November, according to Marc Philippon, MD, managing partner of the practice.
The transaction is a major coup for Orthopedic Care Partners as the industry continues to see interest from private equity companies.
