Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center in Shenandoah, Texas, is on track to complete a $250 million expansion that will bolster orthopedics and other specialty services, Community Impact Newspaper reports.
The eight-story tower will include a 36-bed care unit, six operating rooms, an ICU, endoscopy services and a post-acute care unit.
Three of the operating rooms will open in December, with the other three opening in spring, according to the report.
"We have been very busy with the construction project," Jason Glover, vice president of operations at the hospital, told Community Impact Newspaper. "A big part of that, amplified with COVID, is how much medical care for our community needs continues to grow, and the demand for services continues to be there."
The tower is expected to be fully operational by early next year.
