Jonesboro, Ark.-based NEA Baptist has added the Mako SmartRobotics system for hip replacement procedures, according to a Jan. 2 report from NEA Report.
The system provides surgeons with a CT scan to create a personalized surgical plan for each patient, leading to better outcomes and shorter recovery times.
During the procedure, the surgeon guides the robotic arm through bone preparation to prepare the hip socket and position the implant according to the predetermined surgical plan.
NEA Baptist is the first in the region to offer the Mako system for hip replacements, the report said.
