Cervical disc sales help drive Centinel Spine's strong Q4

Spinal Tech

Centinel Spine's global motion preservation sales reached $13 million in the fourth quarter of 2022, the devicemaker said April 12.

The company's revenue grew 21 percent year-over-year and 20 percent compared to the third quarter of 2022, according to a news release. The performance was largely driven by a 29 percent growth in U.S. sales from cervical disc implants.

Centinel Spine launched its prodisc C Vivo and prodisc SK in the U.S. in September, and more than 300 cases were completed with them in the fourth quarter. The devices genereated almost $2.5 million in sales and nearly 70 surgeons adopted the technology.

"The fourth quarter of 2022 was a tremendous success for Centinel Spine," CEO Steve Murray said in the release. "Not only did the company achieve record total revenue, but our motion preservation business also exhibited accelerated expansion in both our cervical and lumbar total disc franchises. The rapid uptake of the new cervical discs that provide optionality to match the disc to the needs of the surgeon and patient significantly contributed to the success of the quarter, and we expect this momentum to continue throughout 2023."
