Dr. Brian Ipsen completes 300th Xvision case

Spinal Tech

Brian Ipsen, MD, an orthopedic spine surgeon in Galena, Kan., has completed his 300th case using Augmedics' Xvision spine navigation system, according to a June 12 LinkedIn post from the medtech company.

The company's augmented reality headset assists surgeons with screw placement and has recently been updated to assist with cervical and iliosacral anatomy.

Dr. Ipsen began using Xvision in 2021 after six years of experience with other navigational systems.

"Augmedics has helped streamline efficiency in my operating room and has pushed me to become more minimally invasive. … I tell people all the time: Xvision can make an average surgeon a good surgeon, a good surgeon a great surgeon, and it can make a great surgeon nearly unstoppable. It truly is that powerful a tool," Dr. Ipsen said in the post.
