Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Robin Bowman of Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago

Robin Bowman, MD, is a board certified neurosurgeon at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago.

Dr. Bowman is the director of the Multidisciplinary Spina Bifida Center at Lurie Children's and is an associate professor of pediatric neurological surgery at Chicago-based Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. She specializes in brain tumors and spina bifida and is interested in birth defects, neurogenic bladder and neonatal surgical care.

 

Dr. Bowman received her medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. She underwent fellowship training at Lurie Children's Hospital, formerly known as Children's Memorial Hospital. 

 

Her research has been published in multiple scientific journals. She is a member of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, a fellow of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and a member of the American Society of Pediatric Neurosurgeons. Dr. Bowman is affiliated with several Chicago-area hospitals, including Northwestern Memorial Hospital and NorthShore University Health-Evanston Hospital.
