The B.A.C.K. Center and Crane Creek Surgery Center's Richard Hynes, MD, was recently featured in The Herald Times for his efforts in performing and instructing the oblique lumbar interbody fusion technique.
Dr. Hynes instructs surgeons from around the country on performing the procedure. The procedure — OLIF5-1TM — allows for access to the spine, interbody, neuromonitoring, navigation, fixation and biologic options, according to the report. He also did a presentation on the surgery for the Japanese Spinal Instrumentation Society.
Throughout his career, Dr. Hynes has been involved in spine device innovation and developing techniques.
