Spine surgeon Steven Cyr, MD, created a comic book with super heroes based on the muscular and skeletal systems, according to a WGXA.TV report.
Here are five key notes:
1. Dr. Cyr's kids and staff were the inspiration for creating the comic book he hopes young patients will relate to.
2. The superheroes are members of the Osteo Corps — modeled after the Marine Corps — and their powers are centered on muscular and skeletal systems, in line with characteristics needed to treat spine injuries and conditions.
3. The villains include "Fraxure" and "Skully-osis."
4. There are two comic books currently finished and the third is on its way.
5. The comic books are available on the Apple App Store and Google Play store.
