Indianapolis-based OrthoIndy treated the first patients with Theradaptive's OsteoAdapt SP spinal fusion implant as part of an ongoing clinical trial.

The Phase I/II Oasis trial is asssing the safety and efficacy of OsteoAdapt SP, an implant made from synthetic material, according to a Nov. 19 news release shared with Becker's. The implant also has a uniquely designed protein to encourage bone growth.

David Schwartz, MD, performed the first procedure in the clinical trial, and M. Craig McMains, MD, completed the second case.
