Here are eight spine and neurosurgeons making headlines.

Thomas Loumeau, MD, of Jesup-based Bone & Joint Institute of South Georgia, performed one of the first endoscopic spine surgeries using joimax's 4K Endoscopic Spine Surgery System.

Board-certified neurosurgeon John Dorman, MD, developed Circinus, a spinal surgery navigation app.

Savannah, Ga.-based Optim Orthopedics' Donald McCartney, MD, performed free scoliosis surgeries on two siblings from Guatemala.

Pediatric neurosurgeon Mark Puccioni, MD, sued Omaha, Neb.-based Children's Hospital & Medical Center, alleging wrongful suspension after expressing concerns about a colleague whose patient died during surgery. The hospital has filed a 16-page complaint disputing the accusations.
