The North American Spine Society opened three revised coverage recommendations for comment.
The organization opened a 30-day comment period, extending through March 30, which allows individuals to provide feedback on the draft coverage recommendations. "Your thoughtful comments and suggestions are an integral part of the coverage development process and it helps us better represent you and your patients and achieve our common goal of promoting ethical and evidence-based spine care," stated NASS President Jeffrey Wang, MD, in a letter.
The new draft coverage recommendations cover:
1. Epidural steroid injections and diagnostic selective nerve root blocks
2. Interspinous fixation with fusion
Comments should be submitted to coverage@spine.org.
NASS has released coverage recommendations for 27 spine care treatments, procedures and diagnostics, most recently including endoscopic decompression and lumbar artificial disc replacement.
