The American Association of Neurological Surgeons named Anthony Asher, MD, its treasurer at the 87th AANS Annual Scientific Meeting, April 13-17 in San Diego.
What you should know:
1. Dr. Asher is the director of clinical operations at Charlotte, N.C.-based Atrium Health's Neuroscience Institute.
2. He is a clinical professor at Chapel Hill-based University of North Carolina, Atrium Health’s Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, and Nashville, Tenn.-based Vanderbilt University School of Medicine .
3. Dr. Asher receivedhis medical degree from Detroit-based Wayne State University, completed a residency at Ann Arbor-based University of Michigan and completed his fellowship at Bethesda, Md.-based National Cancer Institute.
4. He is a past director and vice chairman of the American Board of Neurological Surgery and a past member of the AANS/Congress of Neurological Surgeons Tumors Section Executive Committee.
