Spine surgeon Paul Canale, MD, is retiring from Daphne, Ala.-based Baldwin Bone & Joint.
Dr. Canale, who has fellowship training in foot and ankle surgery and complex spine surgery, spent 19 years at the practice, according to a March 16 news release shared with Becker's. He was also founder and medical director of The Spine Institute at Baldwin Bone & Joint.
"In the practice of complex spine surgery, we so often see patients struggling with debilitating pain, resulting in depression and difficulty working to provide for their family," Dr. Canale said in the release. "My goal was to relieve that pain and bring comfort and wellbeing to those in need. I am deeply gratified to have worked in partnership with my patients to see them transition from a condition of misery to seeing a relaxed, charming individual’s true personality."
Dr. Canale recieved his medical degree at The Chicago Medical School and completed his residency at Wayne State University in Detroit, Mich.
