The neurosurgery program at Children's Hospital Central California has received $200,000 in total donations from a couple in Virginia who credit the medical director of neurosurgery at the hospital, Gary Magram, MD, with saving their daughter's life, according to a Business Journal report. Years ago, the couple's daughter suffered a life-threatening hydrocephalus after undergoing surgery to remove a brain tumor. Dr. Magram treated the daughter, now 20-years-old, when he worked on the East Coast, according to the report.
Dr. Magram was a neurosurgery resident at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. He also completed a fellowship in pediatric neurosurgery at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
