North Platte, Neb.-based Great Plains Health opened its brain and spine center this summer and hired W. Lee Warren, MD, to lead its neurosurgery program, NBC affiliate KNOP reports.
Three things to know:
1. Dr. Warren, who specializes in spine and cranial procedures, recently performed the first two brain surgeries at the center.
2. The cases were performed with the Aesculap 3D robotic surgical microscope, which is designed to improve imaging and navigation.
3. Great Plains Health is the first hospital to offer cranial neurosurgery services in the region.
