Meet the new president of ISASS

Domagoj Coric, MD, will be the 2021-22 president of The International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery, the organization announced June 9.

Dr. Coric is a spinal neurosurgeon specializing in artificial disc replacement, spine trauma, tumors and adult reconstructive spine surgery. He received his medical degree and completed his residency at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C.

He practices at Carolina Neurosurgery and Spine Associates and is chief of the spine division at Atrium Health Musculoskeletal Institute, both in Charlotte, N.C. Dr. Coric also was chief of Atrium Healthcare's neurosurgery department for 14 years.

Dr. Coric’s research focuses on motion-preserving spine technologies. He has published more than 100 peer-reviewed papers and book chapters and previously held leadership positions with the North Carolina Spine Society and the Southern Neurosurgical Society.
