Kenan Aksu, DO. Premier Orthopaedics (Exton, Pa.). Dr. Aksu was the first surgeon in his county to perform a Charite disc replacement surgery. Along with spine surgery, he treats joint conditions and fractures.

Ronald Childs, MD. OrthoVirginia (Fairfax). Dr. Childs served in the U.S. Army and worked in a private practice before becoming OrthoVirginia's first spine surgeon. He's chief of the orthopedic spine section at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, Va.

Steven Fineberg, MD. Illinois Bone and Joint Institute (Chicago and Park Ridge). Dr. Fineberg has extensive training in minimally invasive spine surgery, robot-assisted surgery and motion-preserving techniques. His research has been presented at more than 150 national and international conferences.

Sarah Fouke, MD. Neurosurgery of St. Louis. Dr. Fouke was the first woman to graduate from the neurosurgery residency program at Washington University in St. Louis. She joined Neurosurgery of St. Louis in 2015 after working at the Swedish Neuroscience Institute in Seattle.

Anthony Frempong-Boadu, MD. NYU Langone Neurosurgery Associates (New York City). Dr. Frempong-Boadu is co-director of the NYU Langone Spine Center. He also works as an associate professor of neurosurgery and orthopedics at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. 

Judith Gorelick, MD. Neurosurgery, Orthopaedics & Spine Specialists (Waterbury, Conn.). Dr. Gorelick has more than 16 years of clinical experience, and her practice focuses on degenerative cervical and lumbar conditions. She's section chief of neurosurgery at Griffin Hospital in Derby, Conn. 

Amer Khalil, MD. DISC Sports & Spine Center (Newport Beach, Calif.). Dr. Khalil is a member of the Spine Universe editorial board. He's an active member of multiple organizations, including the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Congress of Neurological Surgeons and North American Spine Society.

Kaixuan Liu, MD, PhD. Atlantic Spine Center (West Orange, N.J.). Dr. Liu is an endoscopic spine surgeon and is a founding member of the International Society of Endoscopic Spine Surgery. He founded Atlantic Spine Center and has performed thousands of spine surgeries since 2006.

Burak Ozgur, MD. Hoag Hospital (Newport Beach, Calif.). Dr. Ozgur is chief of service for Hoag Hospital's spine program. He has double board certification in neurosurgery and spine surgery, and he authored more than 25 peer-reviewed publications.

Theodore Spinks, MD. Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital (St. Petersburg, Fla.). Dr. Spinks is a pediatric neurosurgeon, and his research interests include stem cell harvest, minimally invasive spine and brain surgery, and concussions. He's chief of neurosurgery at Golisano Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida in Fort Myers.
