Thomas Byrd, MD, board-certified orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine physician, will perform hip surgery on Texas Randers starting pitcher Colby Lewis, according to a Fox Sports report.
Dr. Byrd will perform the procedure to remove bone spurs from the player's right hip.
Mr. Lewis is scheduled to meet with Keith Meister, MD, the Texas Rangers head team physician, prior to setting a date for the surgery.
