Milwaukee Bucks' Mizra Teletovic suffers pulmonary embolism

Milwaukee Bucks forward Mizra Teletovic suffered pulmonary emboli in both lungs after undergoing a successful arthroscopic knee surgery.

 

Here are five things to know:

 

1. Mr. Teletovic initially underwent arthroscopic knee surgery at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City on Nov. 21. The procedure was performed by David Altchek, MD, and Bucks team physician William Raasch, MD.

 

2. Mr. Teletovic had been recovering from the procedure, but then consulted with Bucks team physicians after experiencing unusual fatigue. The physicians found pulmonary embolism in both lungs.

 

3. The team expects Mr. Teletovic to rest for 10 days and then begin supervised rehabilitation.

 

4. In the 10 games he played this season, Mr. Teletovic averaged 7.1 points. The team did not set a time table for his return but expects to update his condition when appropriate.
