Dr. Daniel Grande named president-elect of International Cartilage Regeneration & Joint Preservation Society

Daniel Grande, PhD, was named president-elect of the International Cartilage Regeneration & Joint Preservation Society, according to an April 18 news release.

He is known for his contributions to cartilage repair and regeneration and will lead initiatives and foster new research collaborations globally. Dr. Grande is assistant vice president of research services and a professor of molecular medicine and orthopedic surgery at the Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research, which is part of Northwell Health in New Hyde Park, N.Y.

Dr. Grande is a leader in cell-based therapies for articular cartilage repair, and his research led to the FDA-approved autologous chondrocyte implantation. He also has expertise in stem cells, tissue engineering and biomaterials.

Dr. Grande will serve a two-year term as president and a two-year term as a past president on the ICRS executive board.
