Here are five spine and orthopedic companies that specialize in regenerative medicine and biologic implants.

Amphix Bio: Amphix Bio's pipeline includes spinal fusions, acute spinal cord injury and knee articular cartilage repair. The company recently earned FDA breakthrough device designation for a bone regeneration drug-device combination.

Cerapedics: Cerapedics' flagship product is the iFactor spinal fusion bone graft. It earned FDA approval to expand the use of its spinal fusion biologic, i-Factor P-15, for single-level anterior cervical discectomy fusion with an allograft bone ring.

ChitogenX: ChitogenX (formerly Ortho Regenerative Technologies) is deploying its Restore technology, which aims to help health various musculoskeletal conditions. It is a muco-adhesive chitosan based biopolymer matrix designed to help deliver biologics. The company's flagship product is Ortho-R, a biologic implant.

Regenexx: Regenexx was founded by two physicians who were the first in the world to apply stem cells from bone marrow concentrate for orthopedic injuries. The company recently partnered with McAllen, Texas-based Altus Spine and Joint Pain Center.

Regenity: Regenity offers biologics for orthopedics, dental, ENT, wound care and nerve repair. Its orthopedic portfolio includes The OssiMend putty and TenoMend implant. The company also earned FDA 510(k) clearance for RejuvaKnee, a collagen-based meniscus implant designed for reinforcement and repair of soft tissue injuries of the meniscus.
