A Siberian tiger at the Szeged Zoo in Hungary received Lipogems stem cell therapy for a hip joint problem April 18, euronews.com reports.
Here are three things to know.
1. The 13-year-old tiger called Igor suffered from hip joint pain for years.
2. A small amount of fatty tissue was taken from Igor's body, mechanically purified and implanted into the joint.
3. The Lipogems procedure has primarily been used to treat human joints.
