Orthopedic fixation company, Ossio, won the 2019 Frost & Sullivan North America New Product Innovation Award for its bone regeneration device, Ossiofiber.
Four insights:
1. Ossiofiber is designed for rapid bone ingrowth, regeneration and replacement.
2. The bio-integrative implant provides the strength required for bone fixation, allowing for integration into the anatomy without adverse biological response.
3. Fusing mechanical strength and natural tissue healing, the implant can be applied to several orthopedic fixations, with a goal to enter extremities, trauma, sports, reconstruction, pediatrics and spine segments next.
4. The Ossiofiber Bone Pin Family received FDA 510(k) clearance in January and launched its first product line in May for use in the foot and ankle segment for the treatment of forefoot conditions where hardware removal surgeries are widespread.
