Orthofix launched its Legacy demineralized bone matrix, and Alan Daniels, MD, performed the first case with it.
Legacy was processed by MTF Biologics and has a putty-like consistency, according to an Oct. 13 news release from Orthofix. It can be used as an extender with autograft, allograft or bone marrow aspirate.
"Legacy DBM provides a cost-effective option, without compromising clinical experience or the handling needed in a bone matrix," Dr. Daniels said in the release.
