JointPoint signs exclusive agreement with DePuy Synthes: 6 things to know

Imaging

JointPoint signed an exclusive agreement with DePuy Synthes to market JointPoint's noninvasive computer navigation software for hip replacement surgery.

Here are six things to know:

1. JointPoint's intraoperative software streamlines fluoroscopic use while providing surgeons significant data on cup position, leg length and offset.

2. In addition, JointPoint's OneTrial technology incorporates implant specific data designed to reduce trialing during surgery.

3. The navigation system aims to minimize adoption challenges of the anterior approach surgical method for hip replacement by providing cup position, leg length and offset data for physicians using three radiographic images or fewer.

4. Adding JointPoint software may help reduce length discrepancy and complications related to inaccurate cup placement and final implant selection by providing pre-surgical digital templating and real time surgical decision making.

5. Over 1,000 cases using JointPoint software have been completed over the past several months.

6. JointPoint is focused on developing non-invasive navigations systems that provide intraoperative data and guide components for orthopedic surgery.
