GE Healthcare and Lifespan finalized their six-year collaboration to reduce Lifespan's operational costs by $182 million.
Here are four takeaways:
1. Through the partnership, GE Healthcare will help Lifespan improve patient flow, increase capacity for services, decrease wait times, pinpoint inefficiencies and reduce costs.
2. Lifespan will also work with GE Healthcare to improve their imaging needs. The two will co-design a workforce management system to meet increased patient demand.
3. Lifespan's ultimate goal is to "ensure the health system has access to the most cutting-edge data analytics and tools to help streamline the patient experience and reduce costs."
4. GE Healthcare and Lifespan agreed to specific outcomes that must be accomplished over the six year collaboration. The partnership is the fifth of its kind in the U.S.
