West Virginia University Medicine in Morgantown integrated the EOS imaging system for pediatric patients.
Here are four highlights:
1. EOS imaging systems have nine times less radiation than typical X-ray systems while simultaneously capturing high definition images of the spine.
2. The EOS imaging system captures images while the patient is standing, helping patients who suffer from scoliosis or kyphosis.
3. With the EOS system, pediatric patients can skip CT scans.
4. Physicians at WVU Medicine hope the new imaging system not only helps diagnose patients, but also reduces the likelihood of patients developing spinal disorders in the future through research efforts.
